Marine mammal stranding teams have reported the discovery of two juvenile humpback whales dead in Monterey Bay, located less than 10 miles apart.
Preliminary necropsy findings suggest that toxic algal blooms may be responsible for their deaths, although further investigation is needed.
The stranding teams have completed significant response activities following the whales' discovery earlier this month.
